Can you feel the magic in this photo?
On this particular evening, I needed to get out of the house. I was going a little crazy getting ready for guests to arrive, and what I needed most was a little bit of peace and quiet before the chaos. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy time with family and friends when they come to visit. The cleaning and prep, though, can be exhausting with the never ending to-do list scrolling through my brain.
Getting out of the house and into the mountains is one of the fastest ways for me to get back to a more relaxed headspace. The sun setting over the rocky crags of Eldorado Canyon made the whole place turn gold, and I felt so far away from everything at home. Breathing in the pines, a calm washed over me.
The magic in the mountains isn’t something easily described. You have to feel it. This night, sitting, watching, breathing, I felt it in my chest and in my soul, It wrapped me up and reminded me that taking time for myself is not a luxury, it’s essential to my survival.
